Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2006, is a time for our community to again come together for a great cause.  Fairborn St. Luke United Methodist Church, at 100 North Broad Street in Fairborn, is hosting the Second Annual TALENTS FOR LOVE talent show to provide continuing support for last year's tsunami victims, as well as for those on our own soil who lost so much from Hurricane Katrina.  Many talents will be showcased and many popular faces from the city of Fairborn will make an appearance.
The show will start at 2:00 PM and end about 4:00 PM.   Although there will be no cost for this fabulous afternoon of entertainment, an offering will be taken to aid and support relief efforts for tsunami and hurricane victims.  Seating will be limited, so show up early.  Contact Pam Shrader at 902-4288 for more information or send e-mail to her at peige17@yahoo.com .

Headlining the TALENTS FOR LOVE II show will be our Master of Ceremonies, the Honorable Thomas Nagel, Mayor of Fairborn, pictured at right.  After serving on Fairborn's City Council, Mr. Nagel was elected to serve as Mayor effective December 1, 2003, and was re-elected in November 2005.  A Fairborn resident since 1985, he is a graduate of Sinclair College, the University of Toledo, and the Air War College.  He is a retired Lt Colonel in the United States Air Force.
Mayor Nagel and his wife, Sharon, have five children and seven grandchildren.  In his spare time he enjoys golf, tennis, flying, and traveling.
With a multitude of accomplishments far too numerous to mention here, Mayor Nagel is sure to keep the show moving at a spirited pace.

For your edification and enlightenment, here's a preview of some of the blockbuster talent you can expect to see on February 26th.  We'll be adding many more acts, so check back here often.
Spittin’ Image! Identical Twin Duo
They’ve been entertaining thousands since 1972…gracing festival stages, country clubs, county fairs and more.  They’re the identical twin Swabb brothers – for years, a popular dance/show band renowned on the resort circuit from New York to Iowa and from 1984 through 1998, proud owners of “My Brother’s Place,” a nightclub in cozy Greenville, Ohio.  Brian, booking agent of the operation, adds his superb voice, guitar, and MIDI sequencer talents to the show.  Blain is the comedian of the pair, with vast talent in “all things mandolin.”   He lends his vocal talent, and has a knack for knocking down some terrific harmonica riffs.  Now that this dynamic duo is back on the road again, we are privileged to have them perform at this years Talents for Love II.
